Soil & Water: Soil should be well worked, fertile and in full sun. Do not plant outside until temperatures are consistently above 50 degrees. Allow soil to dry between waterings and feed regularly with high nitrogen fertilizer after harvesting to promote new growth.
Planting & Growing: Sow seeds 1 inch apart, 1/4 inch deep and firm soil over. Keep bed most. Thin or transplant after seedlings are well established. To start indoors, sow 1-2 inches apart in a container of seed starting mix. Keep warm and evenly moist and provide a good light source. Harvesting & Storage: Harvest sprays of leaves by snipping stems just above 2 new sprouting leaves to encourage lush foliage. Keep flower buds snipped off. Use fresh, dried or freeze. Flowers are also edible.
