Jewel Toned Crimson, Gold, & Orange Bell Pepper Seed Mix
Palette of Peppers
The Garden Jewel Toned Bell Peppers in crimson, gold, and orange varieties offer a vibrant spectrum of colors, enhancing both visual appeal and culinary versatility. Cultivated from the Capsicum annuum species, these peppers present a vivid and flavorful addition to gardens and dishes.
Originating from Central and South America, these bell peppers are renowned for their striking appearance. Each plant showcases a stunning array of hues, with fruits transitioning from green to their respective vibrant colors upon ripening. Their blocky shape and thick flesh make them ideal for stuffing, slicing, or incorporating into various culinary creations.
In terms of taste, these jewel-toned bell peppers offer a delightful sweetness, especially when allowed to ripen fully. The crimson variety presents a rich, sweet flavor profile, while the gold and orange variants offer milder, yet equally pleasing, sweetness. Their crunchy texture and juicy flesh complement salads, stir-fries, or add a burst of color to sandwiches and garnishes.
Planting these bell peppers from seed requires specific growing conditions. Start seeds indoors about 8-10 weeks before the last frost date, using a seed-starting mix. Maintain a warm environment of around 70-80°F (21-27°C) to aid germination. Once seedlings develop a few sets of leaves, transplant them into well-draining soil with ample sunlight and consistent moisture.
Providing a warm, sunny environment with at least 6-8 hours of sunlight daily encourages healthy growth and vibrant fruit colors. Adequate spacing, around 18-24 inches apart, ensures proper airflow and optimal development of these jewel-toned bell peppers, yielding a colorful and flavorful harvest for culinary delights.

Soil & Water: Peppers require deeply-worked, well-drained soil with plenty of added organic matter and a pH of 6.0-6.8. Water deeply, but don't over water.
Planting & Growing: Start seeds indoors 8 weeks before the last frost. Direct seeding is not recommended. Stake to keep fruit off the ground and mulch for disease and weed control.
Harvesting & Storage: Harvest the first fruits early to encourage continued production through the season. Cut (don't pull) the fruit from the stems. These peppers may be harvested from the green stage through the color changes.
