Description

The secret to healthy plants is living soil! Composting worms break down bedding and food scraps to create biologically rich compost called castings. Bring soil to life and give plants what they need with Scarlet’s Worm Farm castings. Locally crafted and made in small batches, worm castings contain beneficial microorganisms and nutrients that help plants thrive. Our hardworking worms are fed a special diet of organic inputs and locally sourced coffee grounds! This results in superior castings rich in nutrients and minerals that can be used on all indoor/outdoor plants.

How to Use:

  1. Mix castings into soil medium at 1:10 ratio
  2. Broadcast ¼” of castings over surface of planting and rake in
  3. Side dress plants with ¼ - ½” layer of castings
  4. Line bottom of planting hole with ½” layer of castings
  5. Brew a microbe and nutrient rich tea using 1 cup of castings per gallon of non-chlorinated water *May also be used as a foliar spray
  6. Store in a cool location out of direct sunlight

How Scarlet's Worm Farm - Worm Castings (4lb) fits a fertility plan

  • Adds organic matter that can support aggregation, moisture management, and the soil environment when incorporated appropriately.
  • Contributes a broad but typically modest nutrient supply that can complement a crop-specific fertilizer plan.
  • The bag, tote, or bulk size shown in the title helps match the product to containers, beds, landscapes, or field-scale work.

Application guidance: Base the application depth or rate on the material analysis, crop, soil condition, and intended use. Mix thoroughly where incorporation is appropriate and account for nutrients contributed by compost or manure when calculating other fertilizers. Avoid piling against stems or trunks, and follow handling guidance for dust and sanitation.

Compare related organic-matter fertilizers and amendments when building a complete program.
