Growing Allium Bulbs
Alliums are easy to grow and naturally pest-resistant, making them perfect for low-maintenance and eco-friendly gardens.
Climate and Soil Requirements
These bulbs thrive in USDA Zones 3–8, preferring full sun and well-drained soil with a touch of compost or bulb fertilizer for best results.
Planting Time and Depth
Plant in fall, 4–6 weeks before the ground freezes, setting bulbs 5 inches deep and 5 inches apart with the pointed end up.
Sunlight and Watering
Alliums grow best in full sun with minimal watering needs and are drought-tolerant once established, thriving in dry spring conditions.
Care and Maintenance
Allow foliage to yellow naturally after blooming to nourish the bulb; dried seed heads can be removed or left for added visual interest.

At Grow Organic, we offer the Wild About Allium Blend through partnerships with several top-tier bulb suppliers. By working with multiple trusted brands, we give you access to a wider variety of selections—each grown and processed to the highest horticultural standards.
Design Ideas and Landscape Uses
This allium blend adds texture and height to mixed borders, wildflower gardens, and perennial beds, complementing low-growing spring bulbs and extending seasonal interest.
Its globe-shaped blooms contrast beautifully with upright flowers like salvia and foxglove, and pair well with ornamental grasses and silvery foliage for formal or naturalistic settings.
Complementing Other Bulbs
Alliums mix well with early bulbs like crocus and tulips and with late bloomers like iris and columbine, bridging the gap between spring bulbs and summer perennials.

We guarantee the perishable items we sell to be in good, viable condition when we sell them. Perishable items include, but are not limited to, garlic bulbs, flower bulbs, seed potatoes, onion sets & transplants, potted or bare root trees, vegetable crowns, etc. If your perishable item arrives in substandard condition, take photographs and please contact us within 3 days of the purchase date (or delivery date) and we will provide you with a refund of the purchase price (excluding shipping costs), or a replacement. Accordingly, we urge you to open any boxes marked as ""Perishable"" immediately upon receiving them and inspect the shipment thoroughly (do not crack open heads of garlic, we do not accept claims on cracked garlic). Because some perishable items can deteriorate very quickly, we cannot accept any claims beyond the 3-day time frame as it becomes too difficult to determine if these items were delivered in substandard condition, or if they turned into such substandard condition because of having been improperly cared for or stored once delivered.
