Description

Great Blue Lobelia adds upright spires of blue-violet flowers to the summer and fall garden. The tubular blooms rise above green foliage, offering both a strong vertical accent and nectar for native bees. Planted in a group, the flower spikes create a more visible sweep of color while leaving space for lower plants around their bases.

This perennial is especially useful where soil stays moist and the light is partly shaded. Give it rich soil that holds moisture without becoming waterlogged; a dry border is a less suitable home. Its approximately 30–36-inch height makes it a useful middle layer in a planting. Each packet contains 250 certified organic seeds; cold treatment is needed before germination.
