Description

Darkmar 21 Brussels Sprouts is a robust and productive variety known for its large, tender sprouts and reliable performance. Each plant grows tall, producing a long stalk lined with tightly packed, green sprouts that are sweet, mild, and perfect for roasting, steaming, or sautéing. Thriving in full sun and well-draining soil, Darkmar 21 matures in 90-100 days and performs best in cool weather, making it ideal for fall and winter gardens. Schedule Darkmar 21 Brussels Sprouts for the cool-season planting window appropriate to your climate. Start seed in a protected setting or direct sow when the product record allows, then thin or transplant so each plant has room to develop. Check moisture at root depth and adjust irrigation to weather and soil rather than a universal schedule. As maturity approaches, inspect head, stem, or leaf development according to the crop type and harvest at the preferred size and firmness.

Regular harvesting encourages new growth and ensures a steady supply of fresh sprouts throughout the season.

This variety is adapted to routine garden care, making it a great choice for gardeners of all experience levels.

Darkmar 21 Brussels Sprouts are a delicious and flavorful addition to your garden, offering high yields and flavor.

Before sowing Darkmar 21 Brussels Sprouts, review the packet alongside the current product details and note any range in temperature, germination, or maturity. Ranges reflect biological and seasonal variation rather than a fixed promise. Label each planting with its date and location, then compare emergence, growth, and harvest with local weather. This record is useful for succession plantings and for deciding whether the crop fits better into an earlier or later seasonal window.

    Planting & Care

Soil and Water: Brussels sprouts require fertile soil high in organic matter and nitrogen. They perform best with a pH of 6.5 and consistent moisture.

Planting and Growing: Best grown as a fall crop, start seeds indoors in June to set out transplants about 100 days before the first frost. Sow in flats and set out plants when then have 4-5 true leaves. When the lower sprouts are about 1 inch in diameter, remove the top most growing tip of the plant. This will allow the top sprouts to develop.

Harvesting and Storage: Allow the plants to be exposed to a frost, this will improve the flavor of the sprouts. Pick the sprouts when they are about an1-2 in size. The lowermost sprouts mature first.
