Description

Down To Earth’s Feather Meal 12-0-0 is derived from hydrolyzed, dried and ground poultry feathers. An all-natural source of slow-release nitrogen, it is perfect for corn, tomatoes and fall harvested vegetables. DTE Feather Meal should be incorporated into soils before planting or side dressed throughout the growing season to provide a steady release of nitrogen necessary for optimum plant growth. Nitrogen is essential for all types of growing plants and an adequate seasonal supply ensures plenty of shoots, flowers, fruits and vegetables.

  • Derived from ground feathers
  • High N 12% that is slowly released (6-9 months or longer in soils with low biological activity).
  • Use on plants that like a slow release of N including corn, leafy greens, trees, shrubs, and many other vegetables.
  • 1-2 tbs per plant or 3-6 lbs per 100 sq ft

For complete application directions and safety information, please review the manufacturer’s current Product Label and Safety Data Sheet.

How Feather Meal (4 lb Box) fits a fertility plan

  • Supplies nitrogen to support leaf, shoot, and overall vegetative growth when crops and soil conditions call for additional feeding.
  • Its concentrated nitrogen analysis makes careful measurement especially important.
  • The dry or liquid format and package size shown in the title allow the product to be matched to the crop area and application equipment.

Application guidance: Apply according to crop demand and label timing. Excess nitrogen can produce overly soft growth, delay flowering or maturity, increase salt stress, or move beyond the root zone. Split applications where the label and crop program support that approach, and keep granules or concentrated liquid away from direct stem contact unless directed.
