With its impressive height and striking floral spikes, this mix offers exceptional visual appeal. The extended gladiolus bloom time begins in early summer and can be prolonged by planting corms every two weeks. Each tall stem holds multiple blossoms that open sequentially from bottom to top, ensuring continuous color and interest. These blooms are prized for floral arrangements, where their form and texture make them a designer favorite.

Growing Gladiolus Large Flowering Bulbs
Plant these bulbs in full sun after the danger of frost has passed. Insert bulbs 5 inches deep and space them 4–5 inches apart. For a longer bloom season, stagger plantings every 10–14 days into early summer. Use well-drained, fertile soil and mulch lightly to retain moisture and reduce weeds.
Climate and Soil Requirements
Best suited for USDA zones 8–10, gladiolus prefer full sun and rich, loose soil. In cooler zones, bulbs should be lifted and stored indoors after the foliage has died back in the fall.
Sunlight and Watering
Gladiolus thrive in full sun. Water regularly during active growth and blooming, ensuring the soil remains moist but not soggy. Avoid overhead watering to reduce disease risk on leaves and flowers.
Care and Maintenance
Stake tall stems to prevent lodging in windy areas. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage continued flowering. After blooming, allow the foliage to yellow and wither naturally to feed the corms for next season’s growth.
Landscape Uses for Gladiolus Large Flowering Blend
Ideal for garden borders, cottage-style beds, and cutting garden rows, gladiolus bring strong vertical lines and lush color to summer landscapes. Pair them with dahlias, sunflowers, or salvia for eye-catching seasonal combinations.

We guarantee the perishable items we sell to be in good, viable condition when we sell them. Perishable items include, but are not limited to, garlic bulbs, flower bulbs, seed potatoes, onion sets & transplants, potted or bare root trees, vegetable crowns, etc. If your perishable item arrives in substandard condition, take photographs and please contact us within 3 days of the purchase date (or delivery date) and we will provide you with a refund of the purchase price (excluding shipping costs), or a replacement. Accordingly, we urge you to open any boxes marked as ""Perishable"" immediately upon receiving them and inspect the shipment thoroughly (do not crack open heads of garlic, we do not accept claims on cracked garlic). Because some perishable items can deteriorate very quickly, we cannot accept any claims beyond the 3-day time frame as it becomes too difficult to determine if these items were delivered in substandard condition, or if they turned into such substandard condition because of having been improperly cared for or stored once delivered.
