Peaceful Valley Grass Valley Range Mix for Dryland - Nitrocoated Seed (lb)

Use for Pasture or Erosion Control

Peaceful Valley’s Grass Valley Range Mix for Dryland is a smart choice for landowners, pasture managers, and small-scale farmers working in arid regions. This perennial grass blend is tailored for areas with 10–14 inches of annual rainfall and is ideal for dryland restoration, erosion control, and low-input grazing systems. The mix includes hardy species like Bottlebrush squirreltail and Sandberg bluegrass, which are known for their drought tolerance and soil-building properties.

This seed mix is best sown in fall or early spring and thrives in full sun with well-drained soils. Its deep-rooted grasses contribute to long-term soil health by improving structure, increasing organic matter, and supporting microbial life. With time, these grasses establish a resilient, self-sustaining ground cover that helps suppress weeds and reduce runoff. Nitrocoated seeds ensure stronger germination and improved early growth by promoting nitrogen-fixing microbial activity in the soil.

Whether you’re revitalizing pastureland or building sustainable grazing systems, this dryland-adapted seed mix offers a balanced and ecologically sound foundation. Once established, the perennial grasses require minimal inputs, making them a cost-effective solution for improving range quality and protecting soil resources over time.

Note to Certified Organic Growers from Manufacturer: Nitro-coated seed is conventionally grown seed that has had an organically accepted seed coating applied to it. The seed itself is conventionally grown, non-GMO, and untreated (no fungicides or insecticide seed treatment applied) prior to coating. The seed coat consists of certified organic powdered limestone, an organically approved binder (glue), and peat peat-based inoculant that is also OMRI-approved and organically accepted. The seed coating is applied in a OMRI-approved process in a separate treatment line that only produces Nitro-coated seeds.
