Description
Description
Peaceful Valley Herbal Lawn Mix is a low-growing mixture of flowering herbs and ornamentals for creating a colorful alternative to a conventional turf lawn. The blend produces white, yellow, pink, blue, and lavender flowers and is best suited to lightly used areas where seasonal bloom, plant diversity, and a more informal appearance are desired.
The mixture contains creeping thyme, bird’s-foot trefoil, baby blue eyes, Johnny-jump-up, blue pimpernel, creeping daisy, China pink single mix, English daisy single mix, snow-in-summer, Sweet Alyssum ‘Royal Carpet,’ and annual German chamomile. Most components are perennial or reseeding, while bloom timing and persistence vary by climate. The display generally becomes fuller after the first establishment year.
Prepare a weed-free, finely textured seedbed and distribute the small seed evenly. Mixing seed with dry sand can improve coverage. Press seed into the surface or cover very lightly, then maintain gentle, consistent moisture until seedlings are established. Mow only after flowering and seed set when natural reseeding is desired. This is not a traffic-tolerant turf and should not be used as pasture.
- Seeding rate: 1 oz per 1,000 sq ft or approximately 2–3½ lb per acre
- Height: Approximately 4–12 inches, depending on species and site
- Light: Best bloom in full sun; tolerance varies among components
- Inoculant: Bird’s-foot trefoil is the only legume in the blend. A trefoil-compatible inoculant can support nodulation, but we do not currently offer one separately.
- Uses: Informal flowering lawn, low-profile habitat, garden paths with limited traffic, and ornamental ground cover

Managed to survive a very hot Oklahoma Summer. Produced a good number of flowers the first season, especially Chamomile. Big Fan!
I did not expect to get as many chamomile and pansies! Beautiful!
I planted this mix 10 years ago put a little more seed in some bare patches 5 years ago and every year I have a gorgeous carpet of mostly daisies and thyme that do well with Lille summer watering.
bought this as a natural looking grass for a reptile vivarium, about the same time as the grass started to peep through the soil, i also get two large mushroom caps.
Love this stuff. Just carelessly threw it out on a patch of ground where we had previously piled top soil, and lost interest. It's patchy but the flowers started blooming and this is a really pretty collection of little flowers. Bought more seed to actually plant like it's supposed to be done and can't wait to see how it matures. Zone 7
