The seed I received was no packet, it was a pillow sized bag LoL! I seeded a bare strip of ground that runs along the front of the house, and some areas in the backyard too. This sprouted so fast! it's wintertime and I chose seed that doesn't mind too cold of temperatures, I am saving half the bag for spring.
We planted this seed in a new/bare bed that gets part sun in spring/fall and full sun (6 -7 hours) in summer in 7b. We watered frequently in the spring as it was getting established and had a really lovely, dense, green blanket that shifted between grass, wildflowers, and clover throughout the seasons. Something was always blooming and we never truly had the need to mow, though we did a few times on the highest setting to see what else might flourish. We have a good amount of rainfall throughout the year but had a 10-12 day stretch of dry weather in late summer and this mix did just fine.
Still lush and green in October and looking forward to seeing what happens next year. We bought another pound to overseed the rest of our front yard and are excited to see the results.
We live on Camano Island, WA and we planted this mix last spring. I was so pleased with how evenly it came up and we loved all the wildflowers that bloomed. I have never been able to get wildflowers to grow and flower so quickly, so was pleasantly surprised! We have 5 acres surrounded by trees, so it truly has a meadow feel.
I was really hoping for this mixture to add beauty and a habitat for insects in my San Gabriel Valley Home. I thought it would be a low maintenance, low water lawn alternative. If that is what you are looking for--- this is not the product to order. This mixture is not foot tolerant, nor is it drought or heat tolerant.
