Peaceful Valley Low Rainfall Dryland Pasture Mix - Nitrocoated Seed (lb)
Mix Thrives in Areas of Low Rainfall
Peaceful Valley Low Rainfall Dryland Pasture Mix is a reliable solution for home gardeners, small-scale farmers, and land stewards working with limited precipitation. Formulated for areas receiving just 10–18 inches of annual rainfall, this carefully selected blend features hardy, deep-rooted grasses and legumes that provide persistent forage and ground cover in arid or drought-prone regions.
The species included—such as hard fescue, pubescent and intermediate wheatgrass, and yellow sweet clover—are chosen for their ability to establish quickly, suppress weeds, and improve soil structure. Nitrocoated seed enhances germination and root development, especially under low-moisture conditions. Once established, this mix supports rotational grazing systems, improves soil organic matter, and helps reduce erosion through dense, year-round vegetative cover.
Ideal for restoring pastures, creating resilient grazing areas, or promoting long-term soil health, this dryland pasture mix offers multifunctional benefits with minimal input. Best sown in early spring or fall, the blend adapts well to open, sunny sites with well-drained soils. Allow plants to mature before initiating grazing for optimal root anchoring and regrowth.

The seed itself is conventionally grown, non-GMO, and untreated (no fungicides or insecticide seed treatment applied) prior to coating. The seed coat consists of certified organic powdered limestone, an organically approved binder (glue), and peat peat-based inoculant that is also OMRI-approved and organically accepted. The seed coating is applied in a OMRI-approved process in a separate treatment line that only produces Nitro-coated seeds.
