Red Clover - Nitrocoated Seed (lb)

Renegade Red Clover is an early-flowering, double-cut red clover selected for vigorous forage and cover-crop growth. This short-lived perennial legume develops an upright canopy and is noted for improved resistance to southern anthracnose and downy mildew. It is well suited to temperate areas with moderate to high rainfall and tolerates more soil acidity and imperfect drainage than alfalfa.

In cover-crop rotations, Red Clover protects soil, adds nitrogen-rich residue, and produces flowers that support bees and other beneficial insects. Its combination of leafy growth and regrowth potential also makes it useful for forage and spring hay. Nitrogen contribution varies with nodulation, stand density, fertility, moisture, and how much plant material is returned to the soil.

Sow into a prepared seedbed with good seed-to-soil contact and dependable establishment moisture. Manage cutting or grazing so plants retain enough leaf area to recover, and terminate before mature seed develops where volunteers are not wanted. This seed is Nitrocoated with compatible Rhizobium bacteria, so no additional inoculant is necessary.
