Growing Minnow Daffodil Bulbs

Minnow daffodils are resilient and easy to grow, thriving in well-drained soil with moderate sun and adapting well to various climates.

Climate and Soil Requirements

These bulbs grow best in USDA Zones 3–8 in full sun to partial shade and prefer well-drained, moderately fertile soil, especially when amended in clay-heavy areas.

Planting Time and Depth

Plant in fall, 4–6 weeks before ground freeze, placing bulbs 6 inches deep and 2 inches apart; for natural effect, use irregular clusters or dense groupings in containers.

Sunlight and Watering

Full sun promotes optimal blooms, though partial shade is tolerated; water thoroughly after planting and during spring dry spells, then stop once foliage yellows.

Care and Maintenance

Let foliage die back naturally to nourish bulbs, divide clumps every 4–5 years, and apply balanced fertilizer in fall and post-bloom to support vigorous flowering.

Multiple High-Quality Brands for Greater Choice

At Grow Organic, we offer Tazetta Narcissus Minnow from multiple premium growers and horticultural brands. This curated, multi-brand approach ensures you receive only top-quality bulbs while enjoying a broader range of choices for bloom style, packaging size, and growing characteristics.

Design Ideas and Landscape Uses

Narcissus Minnow's compact size and abundant blooms make it ideal for rock gardens, woodland edges, containers, and cut flower beds. Combine with early bloomers like crocus or grape hyacinths for layered spring color, or pair with muscari and anemones for vivid contrasts.

Complementing Other Bulbs

Plant alongside species tulips, snowdrops, and scilla for a staggered bloom display, and mix with summer perennials like daylilies or geraniums to hide daffodil foliage as it fades.

Guarantee

We guarantee the perishable items we sell to be in good, viable condition when we sell them. Perishable items include, but are not limited to, garlic bulbs, flower bulbs, seed potatoes, onion sets & transplants, potted or bare root trees, vegetable crowns, etc. If your perishable item arrives in substandard condition, take photographs and please contact us within 3 days of the purchase date (or delivery date) and we will provide you with a refund of the purchase price (excluding shipping costs), or a replacement. Accordingly, we urge you to open any boxes marked as ""Perishable"" immediately upon receiving them and inspect the shipment thoroughly (do not crack open heads of garlic, we do not accept claims on cracked garlic). Because some perishable items can deteriorate very quickly, we cannot accept any claims beyond the 3-day time frame as it becomes too difficult to determine if these items were delivered in substandard condition, or if they turned into such substandard condition because of having been improperly cared for or stored once delivered.

Minnow Daffodil

Daffodils are such an easy, great way to get tons of spring cheer! This mix is so sweet! The small flowers in bunches are adorable. If you're like me and have deer and gopher problems, Daffodils are the answer to your problems - neither critter will eat them!
