Description
Description
Organic Honey Jewel Raspberry is supplied as one established, certified-organic plant in a 1-gallon nursery pot, ready to transplant without the seasonal handling used for dormant bare-root bundles. Honey Jewel produces glossy lemon-yellow berries with a bright, sweet-tart flavor. An early picking is followed by a larger midseason crop, giving home growers more than one useful harvest window.
- Plant form: One live potted raspberry in a 1-gallon nursery container
- USDA zones: 4–9
- Chill requirement: Approximately 100–300 hours
- Pollination: Self-fruitful; a separate pollinizer is not required
- Light: Full sun for best cane growth and fruit quality
- Support: Trellis, fence, or horizontal wires are recommended
Choose a permanent position with fertile, well-drained soil and room for new shoots to emerge. Water the root ball before planting, loosen circling outer roots gently, and set the plant at the same depth it grew in the pot. Irrigate deeply during establishment, then maintain consistent moisture while avoiding saturated soil. Mulch around, rather than against, the crown to conserve water and reduce weed competition.
Because the available cultivar information does not identify Honey Jewel as strictly primocane- or floricane-fruiting, prune according to the canes that actually carried fruit: remove spent fruiting wood after harvest while retaining healthy new canes for the next crop. Thin weak growth to improve access and airflow. Honey Jewel is noted for useful resistance to powdery mildew and orange rust, but good spacing, clean tools, sanitation, and watering at soil level remain important preventive practices.
Use our raspberry growing guide for establishment and pruning help, and browse the raspberry collection when planning a mixed planting. Organic certification applies to the nursery plant as sold; continued organic management depends on the gardener’s later soil, fertilizer, and pest-control choices.

Guarantee
We guarantee the perishable items we sell to be in good, viable condition when we sell them. Perishable items include, but are not limited to, garlic bulbs, flower bulbs, seed potatoes, onion sets & transplants, potted or bare root trees, vegetable crowns, etc. If your perishable item arrives in substandard condition, take photographs and please contact us within 3 days of the purchase date (or delivery date) and we will provide you with a refund of the purchase price (excluding shipping costs), or a replacement. Accordingly, we urge you to open any boxes marked as ""Perishable"" immediately upon receiving them and inspect the shipment thoroughly (do not crack open heads of garlic, we do not accept claims on cracked garlic). Because some perishable items can deteriorate very quickly, we cannot accept any claims beyond the 3-day time frame as it becomes too difficult to determine if these items were delivered in substandard condition, or if they turned into such substandard condition because of having been improperly cared for or stored once delivered.
