Description

Certified organic San Andreas is a University of California day-neutral strawberry that produces large, firm red fruit over an extended season when temperatures are suitable. It is available as a bundle of approximately 25 dormant bare-root crowns or a box of 1,000.

  • Plant form: dormant bare-root strawberry crowns
  • Harvest type: day-neutral, with repeated harvests under suitable conditions
  • Fruit: large, firm red berries with balanced flavor
  • Disease note: UC IPM lists moderate resistance to Verticillium wilt, Phytophthora crown rot, and powdery mildew, resistance to Fusarium wilt race 1, and susceptibility to Macrophomina crown rot; ratings vary with conditions
  • Site: full sun, well-draining soil, and consistent moisture
  • Organic status: listed as CCOF-certified organic planting stock

Shipping Note: Box of 1,000 orders ship on Mondays. Place orders by Wednesday for shipping the following week. Available: Around mid-December until sold out (typically by March).

If you need to delay your shipment, please contact Customer Service at helpdesk@groworganic.com or call 888-784-1722 prior to placing your order.

Ships via FDX HD to zones 2–5 and FDX 3 Day to zones 6–8. Customers outside zone 5 may choose FedEx Ground at their own risk due to longer transit times. Half-boxes are not available.

For planting and care information, see our strawberry growing guide.

Visit our Berry, Vine & Crowns Characteristics Chart to compare growing characteristics.

Set each dormant crown with the roots fanned downward and the crown at the soil surface. Planting too deeply can cover the growing point, while setting roots too shallowly can expose them. San Andreas is self-fruitful, so a separate strawberry pollinizer is not required. Its repeated harvest pattern works best when plants remain actively growing; heat, moisture stress, and local season length can change the production window. Compare other day-neutral options in the strawberry collection.
