Peaceful Valley Grass Hay Mix (lb)
Harvesting Sustainability" "Cultivate Green Futures"
Peaceful Valley Grass Hay Mix combines five cool-season forage grasses selected for complementary establishment, regrowth, and seasonal production. Martin Tall Fescue and Orchardgrass provide persistent perennial structure, Intermediate Ryegrass and Tetraploid Annual Ryegrass contribute rapid early growth, and Lofa Festulolium bridges ryegrass productivity with fescue persistence.
This grass-only blend is intended for hay fields where a mixture of growth rates can support a broader harvest window than one species alone. Orchardgrass and tall fescue develop substantial root systems, while the ryegrasses establish quickly and help fill the stand. Final hay quality depends on fertility, weather, harvest stage, curing, and storage rather than seed mixture alone.
Seed into a prepared field with dependable establishment moisture. Control weeds during stand development and delay close grazing or cutting until plants are well rooted. For hay, harvest timing should balance yield and forage maturity; allowing the stand to become overly mature increases stem and lowers feeding quality. Test harvested forage and formulate rations for the intended livestock with qualified guidance. Because every component is a grass, no Rhizobium inoculant or Nitrocoating is required.
- Growth Habit: Cool-season grass-only hay mixture
- Contains: Martin Tall Fescue, Orchardgrass, Intermediate Ryegrass, Tetraploid Annual Ryegrass, and Lofa Festulolium
- Application Rate: 25–30 lb per acre
- Inoculant: Not required. This is a nonlegume cover crop and does not rely on Rhizobium bacteria for nitrogen fixation.
- Uses: Hay production, cut forage, grass coverage, erosion control, and mixed cool-season forage stands
- Establishment: Control weeds and protect seedlings from close grazing or cutting until well rooted
- Harvest Management: Balance yield with maturity, cure hay thoroughly, and test forage for livestock ration planning
- Ordering: Custom blend; minimum order quantity is 50 pounds
- Estimated Mature Height: 24–48 inches when allowed to reach flowering or seed-head maturity. Mowing, grazing, or harvest typically keeps the stand shorter.
