Description

Peaceful Valley Premium Erosion Mix combines quick-cover grasses, reseeding clovers, and wildflowers for disturbed ground, slopes, ditchbanks, field edges, and restoration plantings. Blando brome, Zorro fescue, and creeping red fescue contribute fibrous roots and ground coverage; Hykon rose and crimson clovers add taproot growth and nitrogen fixation; the wildflower component adds seasonal bloom and habitat diversity.

Plant in fall where winters are mild or in early spring in colder regions. Remove competing weeds, roughen compacted soil, distribute seed evenly, and cover lightly. On slopes, press or roll seed and consider an appropriate straw or erosion-control cover to reduce movement before germination. Maintain moisture through establishment when rainfall is insufficient.

This living cover can reduce exposed soil and surface erosion once established, but it is not a substitute for engineered stabilization on hazardous slopes, drainage channels, or severely burned ground. Pollinator use and long-term stand composition will vary with climate, soil, rainfall, irrigation, and mowing.

  • Application rate: 1–3 lb per 1,000 sq ft or 35–50 lb per acre
  • Germination: Approximately 5–7 days for the fastest components; other species may emerge later
  • Plant height: Up to approximately 3½ feet
  • Inoculant: No additional inoculant is normally needed; the clover seed is Nitrocoated with compatible inoculant.
  • Contains: Blando brome, Zorro fescue, Hykon rose clover, crimson clover, creeping red fescue, and wildflower mix

Note for certified organic growers: Nitrocoated seed is conventionally grown, non-GMO seed with no fungicide or insecticide seed treatment applied before coating. The coating contains certified organic powdered limestone, an organically approved binder, and an OMRI-approved peat-based inoculant, applied through an OMRI-approved process on a dedicated Nitrocoated-seed treatment line.
