Peaceful Valley Premium Horse Irrigated Pasture Mix - Nitrocoated Seed (lb)

Developed for Working Equine

Peaceful Valley Premium Horse Irrigated Pasture Mix is an ideal solution for home gardeners and small-scale livestock owners seeking to improve forage quality, pasture productivity, and soil health. This carefully selected blend includes perennial ryegrass, orchardgrass, and timothy—grasses known for their palatability, digestibility, and resilience under hoof pressure and frequent grazing. Suited for irrigated pasture systems, the mix establishes rapidly and provides a lush, nutrient-dense forage for horses throughout the growing season.

This pasture mix thrives in full sun and well-drained, fertile soils with consistent moisture. The Nitrocoated® seed enhances germination and root development, helping young plants gain a strong foothold even in early spring conditions. With proper rotational grazing and soil management, this blend supports long-term pasture health, weed suppression, and improved soil structure.

Whether you’re reseeding a tired paddock or creating a new pasture for your horses, this mix offers a reliable, sustainable approach to grazing. It also contributes to a healthier ecosystem by reducing erosion, building organic matter, and supporting biodiversity in managed pasture systems.

Great tortoise food

Grows pretty quickly. Grew it for my Hermanns tortoises to have food to graze on and they seem to like it. The grass provides some shade and the clover gets mowed down as food.

Tortoise enjoys it

I purchased this seed mix to feed my baby Sulcata tortoise. I’m only using it in a kiddie pool currently growing in coco coir but so far it’s been great. He enjoys eating it and it sprouted fairly fast. The clovers only took 2 days to sprout and the grass came in 5-6 days.

Growing Well

While there was a little bit of confusion about picking up my online order so far so good. The seed seems to have germinated and appears to be growing well. Looking forwards to turning my mares and foals out on this forage.

Good stuff!

Got these seeds for my tortoises grazing areas. They enjoy it and it sprouts fast, even in the AZ summer heat. Shade cloth really helps. Unfortunately the doves really like to eat the seeds.

Fast growing

I live at an elevation near 5000 feet in North Carolina. I purchased this grass seed and it was shipped very quickly. I put the grass seed down and watered it every day and within four days it was about 2 inches high and is quickly filling in everywhere! I’m very happy with the grass seed. My horse loves it!!
