Planting & Care
Planting & Care
Soil & Water: Plant in full sun in well-draining soil. Basil does not require fertile soil, however it performs best when organic matter is added. Provide even water throughout development.
Planting & Growing: Start seeds indoors 4-6 weeks before the last frost, or sow directly once soil temperatures have reached at least 70°F. Pinch ends during development for a bushy plant. Basil will not perform below 50°F; pot indoors during winter for a year-round supply.
Harvesting & Storage: Regular harvesting will keep production high. Use leaves fresh or frozen. Remove flower stalks to extend harvest. Be sure to make the last harvest prior to first frost.

I'm in Zone 10b and this was my first time growing basil. The seeds sprouted great and the plants are a huge producer. It was one of the easiest plants I ever grew.
Grew well if direct sown in Zone 9a! Must protect in Winter.
I buy a few packs of these every year. They always do well in my garden, and they make THE best pesto!
This is some delicious basil! Seeds sprout quickly, and plants are very productive. The first time I planted these seeds I put them very close together, and the leaves didn't grow very large. Then I spaced them out a lot more, and the size difference was substantial! I even harvest the seeds to continue planting. With good spacing, good soil, enough water, and lots of sun, these plants really produce!
I have purchased this same Basil for over 5 years and am always happy with it. I can get at least 2 cuttings off of the plants. I use it for food and I also distill it in copper pots. Very fragrant and love the flavor.

I bought these seeds to go in bundles of packets of vegetable seeds that I will put in the Blessing Box at a church here in town about late January so people who need to can supplement the groceries they buy with a garden. I'm sure they will love them. If my budget stretches that far, I will get some for myself and let you know how I like them. I still have eight bundles worth of packets of seeds to purchase for them first, though.
Appreciate that you have this in bulk quantities. We use this as a rooting hormone and as a potting mix and soil supplement. Kelp meal is rich in minerals and micro-nutrients and contains growth hormones that support healthy root growth.
Helps me keep the ants down on my property. Place outside and keeps ants down even in your house.
I grow flats of this for my pet pigs, because of the high nutritional content. They love it. I find them waiting at the growing location every afternoon waiting for their fave. I've grown beautiful flats of pea sprouts and alfalfa for them too, but they turn up their snouts and walk away.
