German Giant Radish Seeds (Organic)
German Giant Radish - Large Scarlet-Red Skin with White Interior
Radish - German Giant - Raphanus sativus
Annual Heirloom. Very large radish developed in Germany. Attractive scarlet-red skin, crisp white, slightly pungent flesh. These radishes grow from marble to baseball size, without getting woody or spongy.
Did You Know? Radishes are a great source of vitamin C. The name "radish" comes from the Greek word for "fast appearing", aptly reflecting the way radishes grow!
Soil & Water: Radishes prefer well-drained soil with plenty of added organic matter. They have low nutrient requirements; especially avoid excess nitrogen to promote good root development. Preferred soil pH is 6.0-7.0.
Planting & Growing: Cool weather is needed for best development. Sow seed directly wherever there is extra space in the garden. Radishes make good, living row markers for slower germinating crops like carrots.
Harvesting & Storage: A mid to late season variety. Harvest whenever large enough to use. Store in cool, moist conditions.
Soil Temperature: 45-90°F
Planting Depth: 1/2"
Germination: 4-12 Days
Height At Maturity: 6"-12"
Days To Maturity: 29 -35 Days
Sun/Shade: Full Sun
