Peaceful Valley Roadway Mix - Nitrocoated Seed (lb)
Good Mix for Erosion Control
Peaceful Valley Roadway Mix is a durable turf-and-clover blend for farm roads, ditchbanks, equipment lanes, dog runs, and other irrigated areas where erosion control, dust reduction, traction, and traffic tolerance are priorities. Dwarf and tough turf-type fescues, Kentucky bluegrass, white clover, and coated strawberry clover develop a dense, relatively low-growing living cover once established.
Prepare compacted ground before seeding so roots can penetrate the surface. Broadcast evenly, cover shallowly, and keep the seedbed consistently moist through germination. Restrict heavy traffic until the turf is well rooted. Once established, mow approximately one to three times per year according to site needs and irrigate during extended dry periods.
Not for pasture or grazing: The turf-type fescues may contain naturally occurring endophytes that improve plant stress tolerance but can be harmful to horses and livestock. Do not plant this mix where grazing animals can consume it.
- Application rate: 1–2 lb per 1,000 sq ft or 40–50 lb per acre
- Germination: Approximately 5–10 days for the fastest components
- Plant height: Approximately 8–12 inches when maintained
- Inoculant: No additional inoculant is normally needed; the clover components are coated with compatible inoculant.
- Contains: Dwarf turf-type fescue, tough turf-type fescue, white clover, coated strawberry clover, and Kentucky bluegrass
Uses include roadways, ditchbanks, erosion protection, high-use ground cover, and beneficial-insect forage when clovers are allowed to bloom.
Note for certified organic growers: Nitrocoated seed is conventionally grown, non-GMO seed with no fungicide or insecticide seed treatment applied before coating. The coating contains certified organic powdered limestone, an organically approved binder, and an OMRI-approved peat-based inoculant, applied through an OMRI-approved process on a dedicated Nitrocoated-seed treatment line.

Coming up in the area that always get runoff and tons of weeds! Like it so far. I'm also going to blend it with a grass mix for our small orchard.
Seeds germinated well and the seedlings look healthy. Not sure if they can survive the deathly clay mud backyard of my rental, but they did germinate. Hoping for the best. Peaceful Valley cover crop seeds have been great—I’ve tried many. Daikon cover crop seed is awesome. Can’t go wrong with that.
We live on the tailings of an old copper mine and thought we would never have any groundcover let alone a lawn! Roadway mix mix gave us a beautiful green area popular with our chickens, the local deer, wild turkeys and birds.
Looks good so far. Jus waiting for it to term at this point, or else I’d give 5 stars
Germinated quickly
