Drip Tape Loc Sleeve 1/4" Barbed Fitting

Drip Tape Loc Sleeve 1/4" Barbed Fitting

Use to Attach Drip Tape to a Supply Line

¼ inch drip fittings for drip irrigation. The fitting you need to take drip tape runs off 1/2" poly tubing at a 90 degree angle. Loc Sleeve end inserts into drip tape and is secured by twisting the lock over the end of the tape. The small barbed end punches into the side of the poly tubing.

Drip tape must be used on low pressure (5-15 psi), achieved by installing a pressure regulator. Drip tape needs to be on flat runs (no greater than 3% if sloped) and no longer than single runs of 450 feet. The more level the ground and the shorter the run, the more even and uniform the water flow.

good product

I have used these for years and I think the bad reviews are blaming the wrong part.If you use these with seamed tubing you will never get them to stop leaking. They work fine with seamless tubing. They are probably not made for removal and reinsertion, I remove the drip tape from the sleeve for winter. If used in these ways they will be trouble free for years.

not 1/4”, leak like crazy

the hole required is larger than 1/4” making installation with a standard punch miserable, and ruining the poly tubing for any real 1/4” fittings. No matter how tight you get them they leak, every single one. Screw Peaceful Valley, go to Amazon

Doing their job
Mostly great, some dribble

Mostly these work really well, even if a bit tough to get into the 1/2 hose, but 1 in 20 somehow seems to never tighten up 100% and you get dribbles that beget weeds.

Use plumbers tape to stop leaking

I do like these for row crops because they are more economical than 1/4" tubing with inline emitters. However, they really did leak a lot. So this year I tried wrapping the barbed fitting and end caps with white plumbers tape before cranking back to close them around the tape. And the leaking for the most part stopped. But I just took these out from the 1/2 tubing to put into another area and even turning the goof plugs around did not seal off the holes left... Because these are not 1/4" barbs as stated. But I found out neither are the ones from the competitor. Why do they do they make them like this? It makes your system totally incompatible with any other drip irrigation components and ruins your 1/2" tubing. I guess they would be great if all you do is row crops. This is seldom the case in home gardens.
