I have always had ok results from the big brands at the hardware store. This blend is soooo much better!! It is drought tolerant great for the summer heat in Norther California. My kids play rough so durability is very important. This blend takes a beating an looks great!!
I purchased the Tough Turf because I need something that's drought and heat tolerant for Nor Cal! Thank you Peaceful Valley for the excellent product offerings.
Sprinkled this in areas where we needed to patch before the rain and it's already grown very well in some spots. So far it's worked better than the big box store bags!
I've been using this seed for several years in Pennsylvania. It grows quickly and can be mowed fairly quickly. By the next season, it is strong and looks like the rest of the grass. I overseed for good coverage and to account for the fact that wild birds like to eat it - which I don't worry about given that it's organic and not full of chemicals.
We've been using this seed for years and are very pleased with it
