TreeKote Grafting Wax (4 Oz Jar)
Best Known Grafting Wax
TreeKote Grafting Wax is a pliable sealing material for graft unions and exposed plant tissue during fruit-tree, ornamental, and shrub grafting. The four-ounce jar provides material for small projects and spot applications. Applied over a prepared union, the wax creates a temporary coating that helps limit moisture loss while graft tissues begin to join.
Make clean grafting cuts with suitable tools, secure the union with the chosen tape or wrap, and apply an even seal as directed for the grafting method. Cover exposed areas without placing unnecessary material over buds or new growth. The wax supports the physical seal; compatible plant material, timing, technique, and aftercare remain essential.

Heat in warm water or hold in the palm of the hand to soften. While applying it, the hands should be kept greased with vegetable oil or tallow. The wax may also be applied with a stiff brush if kept in a semi-liquid state by heating until soft enough to spread.

Seems to be a great quality product. Easy to use, easy to store. Effectively seals scion ends.
Seals in moisture, seals out insect pests. Worked fantastically protecting my new grafts. I heated it up in a cup of hot water for a few minutes to soften the wax a bit and used a small wooden craft stick to apply it.
