Description
Description
Trifolium repens Perennial legume cover crop.
Ladino White Clover is a robust perennial clover with larger leaves than Dutch or New Zealand White Clover. It produces higher nitrogen yields per acre and is especially well-suited to rotational pasture management systems. Establishing in 5–10 days and reaching 12–18" tall, it improves soil fertility, suppresses erosion, and provides valuable forage in pastures—though it is not recommended for horses. Ladino Clover adapts well to moist soils and is more tolerant of poorly drained conditions than other white clover types, making it a dependable choice for pastures, erosion control, and soil improvement.
- Application Rate: 0.5-1 lb/1000 sq ft or 12-18 lb/acre
- Inoculant: No additional inoculant is needed. The legume seed is already coated with the appropriate Rhizobium bacteria to support nodulation and nitrogen fixation.
- Germination: 5–10 Days
- Plant Height: 12–18"
- Uses: Erosion control, green manure, cover crop, rotational pastures (not suitable for horses)
- Facts to Note: Performs under similar conditions as New Zealand White Clover but with greater tolerance for poorly drained soils. Can be interplanted with perennial ryegrass, orchardgrass, or tall fescue.
Note for certified organic growers: Nitrocoated seed is conventionally grown, non-GMO seed with no fungicide or insecticide seed treatment applied before coating. The coating contains certified organic powdered limestone, an organically approved binder, and an OMRI-approved peat-based inoculant, applied through an OMRI-approved process on a dedicated Nitrocoated-seed treatment line.
