Grew really well last year and loved the flowers as a side benefit to cove crop.
Grew this as cover crop 2 winters ago. Visitors to my garden were collecting greens for salads. I had so many greens that I dried and powdered, put in everything.
I was pretty late getting in a fall cover crop this year, but thought I'd still give these Austrian peas a chance in our office vegetable garden here in Flagstaff, AZ. Despite a couple freezes, windy days, and generally cold nights in the upper 30's, these peas germinated in about a week. They're a couple inches tall after 2 weeks, and I'm excited to see how much growth they can put on before nighttime temperatures hit the low 20's.
I really appreciate all the educational readings and videos offered by Peaceful Valley Farms. They made learning about and then educating other folks about cover crops so much easier. I also appreciate the quick shipping for seeds, especially because I was on the late side of planting them!
I took a chance on this last winter and loved it. It was low growing and extremely hardy - handled zero degrees a couple nights with no problem. Very easy to remove or till under in the spring. We used the tender leaves for salads (great all winter). Also loved the cute white and pink flowers.

I bought these seeds to go in bundles of packets of vegetable seeds that I will put in the Blessing Box at a church here in town about late January so people who need to can supplement the groceries they buy with a garden. I'm sure they will love them. If my budget stretches that far, I will get some for myself and let you know how I like them. I still have eight bundles worth of packets of seeds to purchase for them first, though.
Appreciate that you have this in bulk quantities. We use this as a rooting hormone and as a potting mix and soil supplement. Kelp meal is rich in minerals and micro-nutrients and contains growth hormones that support healthy root growth.
Helps me keep the ants down on my property. Place outside and keeps ants down even in your house.
I grow flats of this for my pet pigs, because of the high nutritional content. They love it. I find them waiting at the growing location every afternoon waiting for their fave. I've grown beautiful flats of pea sprouts and alfalfa for them too, but they turn up their snouts and walk away.
