Biomaster Peas - Raw Seed (lb)
Till In for Maximum Biomass
This vigorous pea variety is prized as a cool-season legume cover crop that produces abundant biomass in a short period of time. Known for its rapid growth—maturing about two weeks earlier than Magnus peas—it provides dense ground coverage that helps suppress weeds, protect soil from erosion, and improve soil health. As a nitrogen-fixing legume, it works in partnership with beneficial rhizobia to enrich the soil with natural fertility, reducing the need for synthetic inputs in organic or sustainable growing systems.
Biomaster peas thrive in cool weather and can reach up to 6 feet in height when supported, making them suitable for green manure applications, soil-building rotations, or as a companion crop to support soil recovery between plantings. For best results, inoculate seeds with a pea-vetch or garden combination inoculant before sowing to maximize nitrogen fixation. This cover crop germinates in 5–10 days and performs well in a wide range of soil types, as long as the soil is well-drained.
Ideal for market gardeners, homesteaders, and small farms, Biomaster peas offer both high biomass production and soil improvement benefits in a single crop cycle. Their rapid growth also provides early season cover, protecting fields before main crops are established.

I grow these mainly for pea shoots. They are super easy to grow and will grow in pretty much any type of soil. I order these once or twice pretty much every year and they never let me down. Good for "snow peas", too. If you're a lazy and impatient gardener like me, these do all the work for you and then provide soil nourishment at the end of their season.
We use Biomaster peas to grow micro-greens. Great price and great seed!
Grew without inoculant, didn't realize I needed it, still performed well. Beautiful organic matter. Looking forward to trying again with inoculant. Seed was still good after several years.
