Gourmet Softneck Garlic Sampler Set

From Mellow Sweetness to Savory Bite

Explore the wonderfully nuanced flavors of softneck garlic. The Gourmet Softneck Garlic Sampler Set brings together four distinctive seed garlic varieties chosen for their culinary range, attractive bulbs, and individual character. You’ll receive one bulb each of Early Purple Italian, Inchelium Red, Polish Softneck, and Western Rose—a flavorful progression from smooth and gently sweet to earthy, full-bodied, and pleasantly sharp.

Softneck garlic is exceptionally versatile in the kitchen. These varieties can provide a mellow aromatic foundation, add savory richness to cooked dishes, or bring a brighter garlic bite when used fresh. Growing all four allows you to harvest and compare flavors that are often hidden behind the simple word “garlic,” then choose the varieties that best suit the way you cook.

  • Includes four softneck seed garlic bulbs—one bulb each of Early Purple Italian, Inchelium Red, Polish Softneck, and Western Rose.
  • Offers a nuanced flavor range from creamy and gently sweet to earthy and pleasantly sharp.
  • Excellent for roasting, sauces, soups, marinades, dressings, sautés, and everyday cooking.
  • Each variety develops its own balance of aroma, sweetness, savory depth, and heat.
  • A rewarding choice for cooks who want dependable garlic flavor with more variety and personality.
  • An easy way to taste, compare, and discover a new favorite softneck garlic.

Included Varieties

  • Organic Early Purple Italian Garlic — Smooth and mellow, with gentle warmth and an inviting garlic aroma. This is an approachable, versatile variety that adds flavor without dominating a dish. Use it in sautés, sauces, roasted vegetables, soups, pasta, and other recipes where balanced garlic belongs in every bite.

  • Organic Inchelium Red Garlic — A celebrated American heirloom with creamy, well-rounded flavor and subtle sweetness. Its richness becomes especially apparent when roasted, producing soft, mellow cloves that are delicious spread on bread, blended into dips, or stirred into potatoes, vegetables, soups, and sauces.

  • Organic Polish Softneck Garlic — Full-bodied and savory, with earthy undertones and medium heat. Polish Softneck has enough depth to remain noticeable in cooked dishes, making it a flavorful choice for tomato sauces, stews, braises, roasted meats and vegetables, and other robust recipes.

  • Organic Western Rose Garlic — Classic garlic flavor with mild-to-moderate heat and a clean, pleasantly sharp finish. Its cream, pink, and rose-colored wrappers make it as attractive as it is useful. Western Rose brings a brighter edge to dressings, marinades, salsas, compound butters, and everyday savory cooking.

Four Expressions of a Kitchen Essential

These four varieties show how much subtle variation can exist within softneck garlic. Early Purple Italian begins the tasting with mellow warmth. Inchelium Red follows with creamy sweetness and rounded flavor. Polish Softneck adds earthy, savory depth, while Western Rose finishes with a more familiar garlic bite and a pleasantly sharp lift.

The differences become even more interesting as you change how the garlic is prepared. Slice or mince the cloves fresh to experience their brightest aroma and heat. Sauté them gently for a sweeter, more integrated flavor, or roast whole bulbs until the cloves become soft, spreadable, and rich. Comparing the varieties in the same preparation makes their individual personalities unmistakable.

Cook, Compare, and Choose Your Favorites

Try roasting one bulb of each variety and tasting the softened cloves side by side, or label your harvest and use each garlic in the same favorite recipe. One may become your choice for marinara, another for garlic bread, another for vinaigrette, and another for slow-roasted dishes. This sampler turns an everyday kitchen staple into a delicious exploration of flavor, giving both gardeners and cooks four distinctive possibilities from a single collection.

Guarantee

Limited Seed Garlic Guarantee (When Planted by November 15th)

Claim Deadline is 45 Days from Purchase or Delivery. (Claims placed after December 31st will be denied.)

What We Guarantee
Our only guarantee is that the seed garlic we sell will germinate, provided you follow the steps listed in our Garlic Planting & Growing Guide. This guarantee is only available to customers who purchase their seed garlic directly from us.

What We Cannot Guarantee
We cannot guarantee that your garlic will remain alive & healthy, or sizes up properly, as there are too many variables beyond our control to be able to do so (i.e. soil preparation, fertilization, weed and pest control, temperature control, irrigation, etc).

How to Request a Credit
If you encounter a significant lack of germination of your garlic (over 50%), please contact us within 45 days of delivery. If we determine that your garlic had a significant lack of germination, we will issue you a credit (not a refund) for the purchase price of your garlic (excluding shipping).* This 45-day time frame is meant to allow you up to 2 weeks to plant your garlic, and up to 4 weeks to check for signs of growth.

(*) We reserve the right to not issue credit for items already replaced. We also reserve the right to require photographic evidence of the lack of germination of your garlic.
