Description
Description
Organic hard red winter wheat is a cool-season cereal grain used for fall cover cropping, erosion protection, weed competition, forage systems, biomass production, and grain harvest. Seedlings establish before winter, remain vegetative through cold weather, and resume growth in spring. Its fibrous root system helps protect exposed soil and creates carbon-rich residue for soil-building rotations.
Sow in fall early enough for seedlings to establish before persistent freezing. Winter wheat requires a period of cold exposure—vernalization—to initiate flowering and grain production the following season. For cover-crop use, terminate in spring before mature grain develops and before stems become too fibrous for the planned management method. For grain production, allow heads to mature and dry before harvest.
Hard red winter wheat harvested from the crop may be milled or otherwise prepared as grain when grown, harvested, cleaned, and stored using appropriate food-safety practices. Seed sold for planting is not packaged as ready-to-eat food and should not be eaten directly.

Very good quality and we are very satisfied with the shipping and delivery. Very satisfied with the products what you have.
I frequently use this in cover crop mixes and I always buy from peaceful valley. Prompt order processing and shipping and competitive pricing on this product!
I planted this product last year. We had excellent results we grew the seed through the full season and harvested the wheat heads theshed it winnowed it and kept the wheat berries. I use this product to Mill my own flour for excellent tasting German style bread. This is a fast sprouting wheat and would be wonderful also for wheatgrass if you prefer juicing. I purchased another 5 lb to cover 1000 square feet this year. I would recommend to anybody. We live in central CA.
