Description

Organic Moss Curled Parsley is a certified organic, open-pollinated biennial herb with tightly curled, deep-green leaves and sturdy edible stems. Its compact texture makes it useful as a garnish, but the flavor also belongs in soups, sauces, grain dishes, herb butter, salads, and seasoning blends. The ruffled foliage gives containers and edible borders a neat ornamental edge.

Parsley is commonly grown as a cool-season crop. Full sun supports dense growth in mild weather, while part sun can help where afternoons become hot. Because it is usually harvested for leaves before its second-year flower stalk develops, local frost and heat patterns are more useful than chill hours or a pollinizer recommendation. Consult the USDA Growing Zone lookup together with regional planting dates.

Transplant at the same depth as the nursery root ball and avoid breaking the central root. Water thoroughly, then maintain reasonably even moisture while the plant establishes. Do not keep the soil saturated. Containers should have clear drainage and enough depth for the root system. Harvesting outer stems first allows the younger center to continue producing, while removing too much foliage at once can slow recovery.

Cut stems close to the base with clean scissors once the plant has enough growth to spare. Refrigerate freshly cut parsley in a lightly moist wrap or stand stems briefly in water; freeze chopped leaves when longer storage is needed. Parsley generally retains better flavor frozen than heavily dried. Watch for aphids, leaf miners, caterpillars, and leaf spots, and identify butterfly larvae before deciding whether removal is appropriate. Read the small-plant transplant guide and the dedicated guide to growing and harvesting parsley.
