Planting & Care
Planting & Care
Soil & Water: Sorrel thrives in rich, well-drained soil (pH 5.5–6.8) with consistent moisture; mulch to keep roots cool and suppress weeds. Avoid waterlogging and let the top inch of soil dry slightly between waterings.
Planting & Growing: Direct sow or transplant in early spring or late summer, spacing plants 12–18" apart in full sun to part shade and keep evenly moist for quick establishment. Remove flower stalks to prolong leafy growth and side-dress with compost during the season.
Harvest & Storage: Harvest outer leaves when 3–6" long using a cut-and-come-again method for continual production. Refrigerate unwashed leaves in a breathable bag for 3–5 days, or blanch and freeze for longer storage.
