Description

Peaceful Valley Annual Clover Mix combines Parabinga Medic and Crimson Clover in a compact, flowering cool-season cover. Both species are annual legumes, but they contribute different growth habits and seasonal responses. The medic spreads close to the soil, while Crimson Clover develops a more upright canopy and distinctive red flower heads.

Together, the two legumes cover exposed ground, add nitrogen-rich plant material, and provide flowers for bees and other beneficial insects. The mixed canopy can be useful in orchards, vineyards, garden rotations, and other areas where a relatively low-growing annual legume is preferred. Actual nitrogen contribution depends on stand density, nodulation, soil conditions, moisture, and the amount of plant material returned to the soil.

Seed approximately ½ inch deep into a prepared seedbed with dependable establishment moisture. The seed is supplied with compatible Rhizobium coating, so no additional inoculant is needed. For green manure, mow or incorporate before mature seed develops. If natural reseeding is desired, allow part of the stand to flower and mature, recognizing that the resulting return will vary with weather and soil disturbance.

  • Season: Cool-season annual legume mixture
  • Contains: Parabinga Medic and Crimson Clover
  • Application Rate: Plant approximately ½ inch deep at 0.5–1 lb per 1,000 sq ft or 25–35 lb per acre
  • Inoculant: No additional inoculant is needed. The legume seed is already coated with the appropriate Rhizobium bacteria to support nodulation and nitrogen fixation.
  • Germination: Approximately 5–10 days under suitable conditions
  • Plant Height: Approximately 12–18 inches
  • Uses: Nitrogen fixation, annual green manure, soil coverage, organic matter production, and beneficial-insect habitat
  • Management: Terminate before mature seed develops unless natural reseeding is desired
  • Ordering: Custom blend; minimum order quantity is 50 pounds
