Peaceful Valley Companions Grass Cover Crop Mix combines two low-growing perennial grasses for durable soil coverage. Dwarf Perennial Rye establishes a fine-textured canopy, while Creeping Red Fescue spreads through underground stems to knit open areas together. The result is a grass-only blend intended for stabilization rather than nitrogen fixation.

The two species complement one another across changing site conditions. Perennial rye contributes relatively quick establishment and a dense surface cover. Creeping Red Fescue adds persistence, shade tolerance, and spreading growth that can fill gaps over time. Together, their fibrous roots help hold the upper soil layer, reduce erosion, and maintain living coverage in suitable perennial systems.

Seed into a firm, weed-controlled bed and provide dependable moisture while seedlings establish. The broad application-rate range reflects different project goals, from lighter conservation coverage to denser grass establishment; select the rate appropriate to the site and desired stand density. Once established, mow as needed to maintain the intended height and prevent unwanted seed formation. This blend contains no legumes, so Nitrocoating and Rhizobium inoculant are not needed.
