Peaceful Valley Low Profile Habitat Blend Mix (lb)

Peaceful Valley Low Profile Habitat Blend Mix combines legumes, fine fescues, and flowering annuals and perennials for insectary strips, orchard or vineyard borders, erosion protection, and low-profile habitat plantings.

Creeping red fescue and hard fescue contribute fibrous roots and durable ground coverage. Baby’s breath, California poppy, alyssum, white yarrow, lacy phacelia, and sweet mignonette provide varied flower forms and bloom periods for pollinators and beneficial insects.

• Legume components: Trefoil, red clover, crimson clover, Campeda, Losa and Antas subclovers, white clover, Nitro Persian clover, and balansa clover
• Application rate: 18–25 lb per acre
• Seed treatment: Trefoil, red clover, and crimson clover are PK-coated but are not Nitrocoated or inoculated. Campeda, Losa and Antas subclovers, white clover, Nitro Persian clover, and balansa clover are Nitrocoated.
• Inoculant: The Nitrocoated components do not need additional inoculant. If nitrogen fixation from the PK-coated red or crimson clover is a goal, use a compatible Alfalfa-Clover inoculant. Trefoil requires a trefoil-compatible inoculant.
• Uses: Low-profile habitat, insectary strips, ground cover, erosion protection, and plant diversity

Sow onto a clean, firm seedbed in fall where winters are mild or in spring in colder regions. Cover lightly and maintain moisture through establishment. Avoid mowing the entire planting at once when longer bloom and habitat value are desired.
