Organic Provence lavender

Provence lavender (Lavandula × intermedia 'Provence') is a certified-organic, potted perennial with silvery-green foliage and tall violet-blue flower spikes. The sweet lavender fragrance and long stems suit borders, low hedges, cutting gardens, and large containers. This product is supplied as a live plant in a 1-gallon pot.

Planting and seasonal care

Set the root ball at the same depth it grew in the container, then water thoroughly. Keep the soil evenly moist while new roots extend into the surrounding ground, but do not leave the crown in saturated soil. Once established, water deeply and allow the surface to dry between irrigations. Gravelly or raised planting areas can help where native soil drains slowly.

Shear spent flower stems and lightly shape green growth after bloom. Avoid cutting hard into old, leafless wood, which may not resprout reliably. In containers, use a free-draining mix, choose a pot with an open drainage hole, and monitor moisture more often than for an in-ground plant.
