Red Globe Potted Peach Tree

Red Globe is a large, round freestone peach with highly blushed red skin over a golden-yellow background. Its firm yellow flesh has excellent flavor and little to no red coloration, making it especially useful for canning as well as fresh eating and freezing.

Growing Red Globe Peach

• Plant form: Potted, semi-dwarf peach tree.
• USDA zones: 5–8.
• Chill requirement: About 850 hours below 45°F.
• Pollination: Self-fruitful; another peach is not required for pollination.
• Harvest: Early to midseason in suitable climates; timing varies by location.
• Site: Full sun and well-drained soil. Thin developing fruit as needed for fruit size and branch protection.

Red Globe is a high-chill peach, requiring about 850 hours below 45°F, and is listed for USDA Zones 5–8. That requirement should be checked carefully before planting, particularly in warmer winters. The self-fruitful tree does not need another peach for pollination.

Install the potted semi-dwarf tree in full sun with the root flare at the finished soil surface. Water deeply while roots establish, allowing excess water to drain and adapting frequency to weather. Develop a strong open framework through early pruning and thin fruit if branches carry more than they can support.
