The Suncrest Peach Tree (Prunus persica 'Suncrest') is a remarkable fruit tree known for its luscious, juicy peaches that capture the essence of summer. If you're a fan of homegrown, sun-kissed fruit that bursts with flavor, the Suncrest Peach Tree deserves a place in your garden.
Suncrest Peach Tree Highlights:
Fruit Abundance: The Suncrest Peach Tree is renowned for its prolific fruit production. It yields large, freestone peaches with a vibrant, sun-kissed blush. These peaches are not only visually appealing but also incredibly sweet and juicy.
Ripening Time: One of the standout features of the Suncrest Peach is its relatively early ripening. In many regions, you can expect to harvest these delectable peaches in late spring to early summer, typically around June to July, depending on your local climate.
Fruit Size: The peaches produced by the Suncrest Peach Tree are on the larger side, often reaching 3-4 inches in diameter. Their ample size makes them perfect for slicing fresh, baking into pies, or transforming into preserves.
Flavor Profile: Suncrest peaches are celebrated for their exceptional flavor. They are sweet with a delightful balance of acidity, creating a harmonious taste that's perfect for enjoying fresh or incorporating into various culinary creations.
Freestone Variety: Suncrest peaches are categorized as freestone, meaning the flesh easily separates from the pit. This characteristic makes them ideal for fresh consumption, as the pit can be effortlessly removed, allowing for easy slicing and eating.
Cultivating Suncrest Peach Trees:
Location: Select a sunny location for your Suncrest Peach Tree, as it thrives in full sun, receiving at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily. Ensure the soil is well-draining, as peaches dislike waterlogged conditions.
Planting: Plant your Suncrest Peach Tree in late winter or early spring when it is still dormant. Space multiple trees at least 15-20 feet apart to allow for proper air circulation and growth.
Soil Preparation: Prior to planting, amend the soil with organic matter, such as compost or well-rotted manure. This enriches the soil, improves drainage, and provides essential nutrients.
Watering: Adequate and consistent watering is crucial during the growing season, especially during dry spells. Use a soaker hose or drip irrigation to provide deep, even moisture to the tree's root zone.
Pruning: Regular pruning is essential for maintaining a healthy and productive Suncrest Peach Tree. Prune in late winter or early spring to remove dead or diseased branches and shape the tree for proper air circulation and sunlight exposure.
Harvesting and Enjoyment:
Harvesting: Suncrest peaches are typically ready for picking in early to mid-summer, depending on your local climate. To determine ripeness, gently squeeze the peaches; they should yield slightly and have a fragrant aroma.
Storage: Store freshly harvested peaches at room temperature until they reach your desired ripeness. Once ripe, refrigerate them to prolong their freshness. Be sure to consume them within a few days for the best flavor.
Culinary Uses: Suncrest peaches are incredibly versatile in the kitchen. Enjoy them fresh as a healthy snack, slice them into salads, or transform them into delectable desserts like pies, cobblers, and preserves. Their natural sweetness enhances a variety of dishes.
The Suncrest Peach Tree is a cherished addition to any home orchard, offering an abundance of juicy, sweet peaches that capture the essence of summer. With proper care and attention to its needs, this delightful tree can provide you with an annual bounty of sun-ripened delights that will delight your taste buds and add a touch of summer to your kitchen year after year.

About Peaches: Peaches are extremely vigorous trees requiring regular pruning and thinning. Needs fertile, well drained soils. Tend to bloom early and may be difficult to crop in late frost areas. Plant several varieties for continued supply, as ripe fruit does not store well. Susceptible to peach leaf curl, brown rot, oriental fruit moth and peach twig borer. We guarantee that your dormant tree or plant will arrive in good, viable condition. If your tree arrives in substandard condition, notify us within 3 days of delivery. Please email pictures of the box, inside packaging, the tree and its roots to helpdesk@groworganic.com. We will investigate your claim and process a request to exchange or refund the damaged product.
If your dormant tree or plant has not grown new leaves by June 15th, you may be eligible for our Limited Dormant Tree & Plant Guarantee. This guarantee provides for a store credit for the purchase price of the tree, excluding shipping. Please see the Instructions below.
Important Dates:
- April 1st Dormant trees/plants must be planted in the ground
- May 15th Perform scratch test, if no new leaves have grown
- June 15th Deadline to apply for a dormant tree/plant credit
All required documentation must be received by June 15th for your claim to be considered. Claims or documentation received after June 15th will be denied, without exception. Instructions listed below
Terms and Conditions
We cannot guarantee that your tree or plant will remain alive and healthy after it is received, or bear fruit as there are too many variables in your environment that are beyond our control (i.e. soil preparation, weed and pest control, proper irrigation, chill hours, compatible hardiness for your growing zone, proper choice of pollinator, extreme weather, rodent damage, disease, etc.).
We cannot guarantee that we will be able to provide a replacement tree/plant of the same species either that same growing season or in future years. Customers are responsible for all shipping fees associated with replacement trees and plants.
If we determine that the tree you purchased directly from us is not viable, we will issue you a store credit (not a refund) for the purchase price of the affected dormant tree or plant. Shipping is not included in the dormant tree/plant guarantee. Store credits can be used to purchase any product we sell and are valid for use only until July 1st of the following year.
Historically, 98% of our dormant trees and plants grow and thrive when they have been cared for and planted using our growing guides. Dormant trees and plants must be planted in the ground by April 1st in order to be eligible for credit. If the ground in your area is still frozen solid, you may temporarily plant your tree or plant in a pot.
Potted, non-dormant trees or plants are excluded from this guarantee as they are not dormant at the time of shipment. Evergreen trees such as citrus, avocado and olive trees are not available for credit under the Dormant Tree and Plant Guarantee.
Instructions
We guarantee that your dormant fruit tree or plant will leaf out, if you care for it according to our growing guides. In the unlikely event that your dormant tree or plant does not have leaves by May 15th, follow these simple steps to apply for a store credit:
Before you call or email, please perform a “scratch test” to determine if the tree or plant is still alive. This video shows how to check for live tissue under the bark. Scratch tests need to be done a few inches above and below the graft.
Green Cambium Layer / Living Trees
If the cambium layer under the bark is green, give your tree a little more time. It is still alive, but hasn’t come out of dormancy yet. Check to make sure that it is getting the right amount of deep root water, enough sunlight and that the weather is warm enough for that type of tree/plant to come out of dormancy. Every tree has its own personality and will come out of dormancy at different times. Be sure to submit the required documentation listed below by June 15th, if it doesn’t grow leaves.
Brown Cambium Layer / Dead Trees
If the scratch test shows a brown cambium layer or if your dormant tree/plant doesn’t have leaves by June 1st, please email us at helpdesk@groworganic.com. All required documentation listed below must be received by June 15th for your claim to be considered. To be considered for the guarantee claim, all required documentation must be received by June 15th. Incomplete submissions will be denied.
Required Documentation
- Order number
- Name of dormant tree/plant and the quantity affected
- Photos of each tree or plant showing:
- The roots (tree or plant must be pulled out of the ground)
- The scratch test areas
- The entire tree/plant
We reserve the right to not issue credit for items that have already been replaced. We also reserve the right to require photographic evidence that the tree/plant was not killed by root rot, rodent or mechanical damage.

We bought our Suncrest around 2-3 years ago and it just had its first real harvest. The peaches are small in size but PACKED with delicious flavor. The longer you let them ripen, the sweeter they get. Very much worth the buy and we cannot wait to have a bigger garden so that we can buy a couple more! Highly recommend. Tip: THEY LOVE WATER IN HOT CLIMATES! Don't over water, but if you notice your tree at a stand still while fruit is growing....definitely give it some more water. When we put in work, we need water too! God Bless!
We already have one Suncrest peach tree that we planted 3 years ago. Even in our challenging climate in New Mexico, it has done really well. This year it looks like we will get quite a nice crop. The new one arrived already budding out. It is a good size, very sturdy and is leafing out nicely.
I bought four trees from Organic Valley and every one of them was well formed, sturdy and had a good trunk and root system. Best trees I have ever gotten.
I was surprised by how it was pruned but not being a specialist I guess it will be fine. It has started to get leaves and I am excite to watch it grow.
Peach tree arrived in really good condition. One partially cracked but small branch. I trimmed it off anyways. I soaked the roots for 6 hours according to the instructions I received when I got my pear tree. There wasn’t any instructions in this container but I figured they were the same as the other trees I’ve received from groworganic.com. I took photos of before and after putting it in the ground. Too bad there was no way to post them for you to see how great they looked.

from 9203 reviewsI grow this in old litter boxes for a bunny & Guinea pig rescue- it is a great treat! Grows fast, thick and moist. I also grow it in my catio for my cats
High quality saffron corms that shipped when they said they would. They started sprouting in my cabinet within a week so definitely plant them quickly after receiving.
They looked good when the plants arrived. Waiting for planters to transplant so they'll have more room, but not planting in the garden to avoid the mint from spreading all over. They're still alive....
Beautiful seed garlic
This tree takes a lot of patience, both in years to fully fruit out and in terms of how late in the season the peaches finally ripen, - the end of September here in zone 5b, - but boy are they amazing when they come in! I have two other peach trees, - Redhaven and Reliance, which have wonderful fruit, but these Indian Free White peaches are amazing. The aroma alone is incredible. These also have thicker skins, more "fuzz," which you can rub off, and are a bit on the acidic side, but OH so yummy! I have gotten raves from the farmers who tried them.
Been using this for last couple growing season. Works wonders for the garden.
This hose gets dragged over bark and around raised garden beds, and also over concrete and a weedy hillside to water a couple trees. So far it has performed well and there aren't any leaks or kinks!
I have not had a chance to plant these yet as it’s still a little early. Package came quickly and garlic was beautiful, can’t wait to plant it.
This is a great addition to my veg garden area!
These branch supports work well, are sturdy, and relatively cheap. While you do have to provide your own poles, you can buy wooden or metal ones of your needed length at hardware or home improvement stores. We ordered ten at first and then bought ten more after seeing how the first ones worked.
Of course I wanted a hand made wooden trug, but they are expensive! This plastic one is easy to clean, and the perfect size. I love the drainage holes.
No lightweight nonsense here! These are the one of the industry standards in tree pots and they have become our go to on the tree farm. You will find lightweight look-a-likes out there, but most only serve one time use. These have held up for years and been used multiple times in some cases.
This has become one of my new favorites for all around propagation. From seeds to cuttings we use this mix for our fig trees and have had unbelievable success. The mix is formulated for strong and fast root development. No complaints about it!
These trays are great. Everything is ready to go.
I use them for cuttings and seed starting and haven't been disappointed yet.
I had the frustration of having my dog dig up my citrus trees and figs out of their containers. I was furious. This granular repellent has stopped the dog completely. So now, the dog can stay.
