Organic sweet woodruff

Sweet woodruff (Galium odoratum) is a certified-organic potted perennial for shaded garden areas. Whorls of bright green leaves spread into a low carpet, followed by small white star-shaped flowers in spring. Planting and spread management

It may become aggressive in favorable shade, so choose a site with room to naturalize or edge the planting periodically.

Shear or lift wandering stems to keep the patch within bounds. In a container, use a moisture-retentive but draining mix and protect the pot from intense afternoon sun. Plants may look sparse or dormant during winter depending on climate; spring growth resumes from established crowns.
