Planting & Care

  • Fall-planted spuds produce outstanding yields by May. If your area experiences hard winters (USDA Zones 1–7), or you tend to have long, wet spring seasons when rot might be a problem, plant potatoes in the spring.
  • One pound of seed potatoes will plant a row approximately 8' long with seed pieces spaced at 8 - 12" apart.
  • Plan on 1,200 lb/acre (600 lb of fingerlings) when rows are spaced 36" apart with 12" between plants.
  • Under optimal conditions, you can expect to harvest 10–15 pounds of potatoes for every pound of seed potato planted.

Seed Potatoes

I have never ordered from this company before, so I ordered a small test order to see how they operate and how the quality of their product. Well I was very satisfied with the whole process. Ordering was simple and the shipping was quick. I ordered 3 lbs of Yukon gold and 3 lbs of Norland red. Order came in one box that was packaged well. Both types had a mix of small and large seed potatoes. There was no rot with the Norland red and all looked nice and healthy. Of the ten or so seed potatoes all have chitted and they chitted a lot.The Norland red looks like it will produce a lot of potatoes.

Good potato.

Planted potatoes for my first time last December in Florida. These performed great. Easy to care for and a ton of potatoes for the little I planted.

Best red potato!

These are my favorite red skinned potatoes. No matter how poor my soil has been over the years, it has always produced abundant creamy and delicious potatoes!
